In my personal and professional life, I have high standards, and in short, try to make each day extraordinary. I am a lifelong learner and teacher, and truly believe in the transformative power of education and exploring the understood borders of oneself. When it comes to teaching, the student comes first, period. I work very hard to make sure that any student interaction is a positive one, and that students walk away from interactions with me feeling inspired, hopeful and supported as they are working towards their goals. I also believe strongly in empowering a student towards independent learning and helping them discover aspects of being a learner that they are passionate about, and will continue to pursue with or without extrinsic motivators. I try to show each person with whom I come in contact that they have it within themselves to overcome almost any obstacle (educational or otherwise)...and live according to the notion that people don't remember what you say or do as much as they remember how you made them feel.
