I received my BA degree from Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, MS from SUNY Poly Tech., Utica, NY in Computer Science and my MPhil from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY in Computer Science. I have 6 years teaching experience. First, as a tutor for Beaven and Assoc. where I tutored students in preparing for the SSAT &/or SAT exams. Then, as a Teaching Assistant in the University Computer Science laboratories while working on my MS and MPhil.
I believe that planning, preparation and patience are key factors for being successful in teaching. A strong background in the fundamentals enables a student to build on that knowledge to meet their goals. My experience has taught me how to be thorough and accurate in my instructions. I utilize several different methods to teach students in learning about various computer science topics.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe the chief ways a teacher motivates students are: (1) inspiring students to believe they can achieve their goals and dreams, (2) guiding students in building a better life, and (3) encouraging students to believe in themselves.
