I am a certified elementary education and special education teacher. I have a Masters in Special Education.
I love to teach Reading Fluency, Reading Comprehension, phonics, letter and sound recognition, sentence structure and grammar. I like to teach students good study skills and organizational skills to make them successful in the classroom. I have experience working with students who are both visual/auditory or both. I personally like to work with students who are having difficulties in their classroom with their teacher and teaching successful ways to communicate effectively and avoid behavior issues in the classroom.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
There are always different ways to help a student learn skills that might be difficult. The tutor needs to find for each student their level of comfort.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
I like to take the passage and break it up so that the student can truly understands it.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Finding their interests and using it to help them.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
There are always fun ways to teach a subject that the student may not like.
