I graduated from Pomona College with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and will soon be graduating from Stanford University with a Masters in Education and a biology credential. During my time in college, I taught and tutored middle school and high school students in writing and science. I also worked as a TA for the introductory computer science course. After graduation, I worked as an AmeriCorps teaching fellow at a middle school in East Oakland, where my focus has shifted to include math. Two summers ago, I was a lead science teacher at Aim High, a Bay Area summer enrichment program for students from low-income backgrounds. All of these experiences have helped me grow as an educator by forcing me to get creative in order to support all my students and their variety of learning needs. I enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to empower my students to achieve success in life - however they choose to define it. Outside of work, I like to run, play the ukulele, try new recipes, and read!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is that anyone can learn. If someone's struggling, it's just because nobody's figured out the right way to teach it to them yet.
