I am a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and I graduated from Southern University and A&M College Baton Rouge. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education. I am currently a Texas certified teacher in core subjects for grades EC-6th. My particular educational strength is Math! I love it! I prefer to tutor in Math because I want children to learn various concepts and hopefully build a life long learner. I believe that I can help your child increase math fluency and confidence!

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In the first session, I would like to get to know the child a little bit. This will allow me to begin understanding their needs from their point of view.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I can help a child become an independent learner by encouraging them to see information about topics that they enjoy. Doing so will help boost their confidence in their educational abilities.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would continue to provide positive constructive feedback and encourage them.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

If a student has difficulty learning a concept or skill, I will take the time to analyze where the disconnect is and break the skill apart to help the child learn it.
