My name's Kyle and I'm originally from San Diego, CA. I earned my Masters of Philosophy in Neural and Behavioral Sciences from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and my Bachelors in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University. I also have a post-baccalaureate certificate from UCSD in pharmaceutical biology. For the past several years I've worked as a scientist in biomedical research developing treatments for different diseases. Teaching and science have always been passions of mine, I love to learn and always try to inspire that same enthusiasm in my students. I first began tutoring in high school and continue to this day, working with students from primary through graduate levels in many subjects ranging from the sciences, to history, languages, and test prep. I even helped teach a graduate course while earning my masters! Through my background in behavior and neuroscience, I've learned many useful tools and methods for improving memory and retaining information. Studying is so much more than simple memorization, it's about putting the information in context so a person can remember and use it for longer. Every one of my students gets a personalized approach best suited for their own learning strategies and personality. In working with me you'll gain more than just an understanding of the material, you'll learn study tips and tricks that you can apply to all your future academic endeavors!

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe learning is an individual experience; every person has their own style and methods. By tailoring a study plan designed specifically for a single student, personal strengths can be utilized while areas for growth can be explored. I always try to make the material meaningful to a student and their interests in order to develop a deeper and longer-lasting understanding.
