I graduated with a BA in Pure Mathematics from the University of California Berkeley. I have been tutoring privately since I was in High School and have helped students of all ability levels and aptitudes. I have also tutored in a wide variety of subjects including Physics, Writing, Latin, and of course Math. My approach in all of these subjects is to emphasize an understanding of core principles and to tackle difficult problems from this strong foundation. Thus my academic approach is to work from the ground up with a priority on problem-solving skills instead of rote memorization.
When I'm not tutoring, I pursue hobbies that are as varied as my academic interests. I love running, rugby, and Ultimate Frisbee. When stuck indoors, I enjoy reading and chess.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I focus on fundamentals and teaching how to break complicated problems down to the basics. Especially when working with math, it is important to build a good foundation of knowledge before moving on to harder material.
