I am a senior at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. My studies at Sarah Lawrence College and Oxford University have given me a love for the written word. I believe that writing is one of the most important skills that a person can have today. No matter the field, the ability to communicate clearly and compellingly is invaluable. In my tutoring, I focus on helping students identify the strategies that writers use to make their point. This way students can critically evaluate what writers are saying, as well as use these strategies themselves when they want to articulate their own opinions. I believe that it's important to become familiar with the common structures and tactics used in writing in order to develop one's own voice. In my experience tutoring reading and writing, I love seeing my students become more and more comfortable navigating texts and writing their own.
