I'm currently a third year law student at UCLA, with a B.A. in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley. I enjoy teaching because I like making complex concepts easy to understand. In high school, my first job was tutoring, and I've been tutoring in various subjects since then. When I'm not tutoring or doing my own schoolwork, I read, hike, and write novels.
I have a strongly student-centered approach to teaching. I begin by finding out what specific parts of a subject the student is having trouble with, explain and demonstrate those areas, and then discuss them to make sure they are fully understood. I try to find out how each student I have learns best so I can adapt my teaching to suit their learning styles.
I tutor a wide range of subjects, but my two favorites are the LSAT and writing. I enjoy teaching the LSAT because it's really just logic, and because understanding the way the test works makes a huge difference in your score. I love teaching writing because words have power.
