I am a highly detail oriented third year physics student at UCSB.
My technical skills come from my studies and my various internship and work experience. I have worked in depth with computers at UC Davis, programming in C++ to collect data from Fermilab (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory), LHC (Large Hadron Collider) and LUX (Large Underground Xenon Detector). I worked on noise reduction methods using halo-ID for the Large Hadron Collider. I used C++ programs to acquire and analyze data from the Large Underground Xenon Detector in the search for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles. Running a family owned restaurant has allowed me to build teamwork abilities and realize how crucial it is for a successful business.
Furthermore, my tutoring experience has allowed me to approach each student with a suitable teaching method for their learning style.
As a tutor, I am absolutely fascinated by education, and strive to obtain a deeper knowledge in every aspect of the field. I believe the more tools one has in their toolbox, the more can be achieved to innovate a new teaching style. I focus on intricate details because they are critical to run a complex system.
I feel that the tutoring projects of Varsity Tutors will provide a rewarding and challenging work experience. It is my earnest desire to work for and learn from Varsity Tutors.
