I have been a professional educator for over eight years, specializing in Spanish, Creative Writing, Art History and assorted other content areas. I'm excited about working with you on achieving your educational objectives!
I am also Cuban American and was raised speaking Spanish, so my cultural savvy and authentic usage parallel my academic experience with the language. I am a published writer in both English and Spanish, and I love to help people find better ways to express themselves, both verbally and in writing. I am results-oriented and can bring experienced counseling based on my knowledge of higher education administration.
I believe a great tutor can identify and address the strengths and needs of students. A tutor helps students overcome hurdles and learn more about how they learn best.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in starting where students are, maximizing strengths, helping students learn how to learn and making learning fun!
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
It's important to get acquainted with a student to find out what short- and long-term goals they have for tutoring services. I will want to get a sense of the client's strengths that can be brought to bear on their learning, and on what has been successful for them in the past. Finally, I will want to know about how the client likes to have fun so that I can incorporate some fun in our sessions.
