I am a student majoring in Public Health and minoring in Global Poverty and Practice at the University of California, Berkeley. I have been a tutor since freshman year of high school and have worked with students anywhere from elementary school to college level in subjects including Biology, Math and English. I have the most experience tutoring math, however, and I have a lot of fun working through problems with students.
As a tutor, my motivation comes from being able to guide someone through a problem and witnessing the moments where everything just clicks in their minds. It is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching, and I will utilize all my knowledge, patience, positive encouragements, and resources to help students get to that point.
My past experiences include tutoring for the general community, for the local library, and for the mathematics department at my high school. In college, I also tutored for the Student Learning Center and participated in a student organization that introduced science concepts and experiments to local elementary school students. Outside of school, I enjoy dancing, cooking, traveling, and volunteering with underserved populations.
