I received my Masters in Mathematics from Purdue University and my Bachelors in Math from Bhosphorus University. I also received my Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University. I taught college level math when I was a Math PhD student at Purdue University. I taught middle school math and I am currently teaching Calculus for the last 5 years. I tutor Calculus and all the way down the middle school math as well as any college prep Math tests including ACT Math, SAT Math. I particularly enjoy ACT Math because it is fun to teach the many shortcuts that can save time during the real test. During tutoring I try to guide the student to do the work instead of me showing how to do it, in math you have to do it yourself to learn it. I like to spend time with my family, play and watch soccer and various sports, and volunteer in the community.
Let's do some math.

Q & A
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Success is the biggest motivator and confidence builder. I will make sure the student masters the material and applies the experience to that success.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
I pre-assess the student based on the content and how they learn before I proceed to help them.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
I use the materials the student provides, and I provide my own when applicable.
What is your teaching philosophy?
I teach math, and math is learned by doing. Reading from a resource or watching someone do math is the first step in the learning process.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I do a pre-assessment.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I show them the process to learn math and provide them the resources they can use.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Once a student experiences success by dong math, they will stay motivated.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
By making the content relevant, breaking down the content, and trying different strategies so students experience success.
