Welcome to my profile page! I'm a college graduate with many years of experience in tutoring students in reading, literature, but mostly essay writing. I spent my final year in college as a writing center tutor and after that worked in a library where I helped students with their research and writing techniques. My goal as a tutor has always been to help my students learn and become more confident in their writing abilities so that eventually they will be able to write efficient and well thought-out papers on their own. I am confident that I can help whomever needs it with their writing skills.

A few things about me: I grew up in Louisiana and have lived there for most of my life until recently when I decided to move to California in order to be closer to my girlfriend and because I felt like I needed a change of pace in my life. I'm really enjoying life in Sacramento so far, though driving here can be difficult. I have two pets so far, a cat and a mouse which I know is an odd mix. I make it work though and I'm hoping to add a dog to that soon. As far as my interests and hobbies, I'm sure it'll surprise no one when I say that one of my biggest hobbies is reading. I really enjoy fantasy novels and some of my favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Neil Gaiman, and Patrick Rothfuss. I also really enjoy video games, comics, and some anime.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to put the student's confidence and abilities first. I believe that I should be working to improve the student's abilities and confidence in whatever area I am teaching them in so that they will eventually be able to write their own papers without my help and be confident in what they've written.
