I graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in Political Science and History, and am a Certified Teacher in the state of Texas. I believe that tutoring is a collaborative process, in which tutor and student work toward the student’s deepened understanding, while the tutor offers guidance, encouragement, and the expertise needed to get there. I have a passion for the English language and a love for writing. I currently work in children’s advocacy in DC as a copy editor, communicator, and policy researcher. Between my professional communications experience, extensive academic writing, and knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Extended Essay (which I completed during high school in the process of earning an IB diploma), I have the writing chops to improve any student’s writing skills—and I’ve taught writing in the classroom to top that all off. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals in writing, English, and related subjects. As a former teacher, I know that every student has different needs, and I hope to work together to reach your goals!
