The passion that drives me to teach is the importance of education within our society. Without education our future generations will not experience social or scientific breakthroughs. These breakthroughs give us everything from smartphones to social stability. I believe with my experience in a decade of management along with my years of teaching martial arts and marksmanship, I will be a great tutor. I was formally educated at the University of California Irvine, where I obtained two degrees in History and Philosophy. I am currently working toward my teaching credentials and a graduate degree in Geology. My specialties include: history (American/World), philosophy (western/eastern), geography, geology, aviation, and essay writing. However, my favorite subject to teach is geology. Earth Science is extremely important in this day and age. The lack of understanding on issues of climate change has a dramatic effect on our lives. My tutoring style reflects how I learn and involves visual and problem-solving exercises. This allows the student to dive right into the material, instead of shallow knowledge based teaching. My interests outside academia also lend a hand in my teaching ability. Boxing and marksmanship has led me to become a better and more confident teacher.
