I have a BA in English from UC Berkeley. In addition, I have a JD from UC Hastings College of the Law, where I graduated cum laude, was a member of the Law Review, and published a Note. I have actively practiced law for twelve years, in a wide variety of legal fields. Most recently, I represented indigent criminal defendants on appeal. I was selected as a California Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2008, and as a California Super Lawyer in 2015. I am licensed in both California and Washington.
As is probably apparent from my educational and professional background, I love reading, writing, and editing. I have tutored students of all ages and abilities (including students with special needs) in reading, writing, and comprehension. I have also assisted law school students with drafting and organization of legal briefs, and in various substantive legal areas. I am also interested in creative writing, and have published several short stories.
I am patient, creative, and a very good listener. These traits allow me to craft a tutoring session, which is designed around a student’s unique strengths and personal learning style. Using the diverse skills I have acquired through years of education and professional experience to help students succeed academically is extremely rewarding for me.
Thank you for taking the time to review my tutoring profile, and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you soon.
