I received a Bachelor of Arts in French from Truman State University, and I am currently pursuing my Missouri State Teaching Certification. I tutor all levels of French including AP French Language and Culture as well as ESL and ACT English and Writing. My favorite subject to tutor is French because I enjoy helping students at all levels make discoveries in the language. I am passionate about helping students because I want to make a difference in people's lives through education. I have taught and tutored in a variety of settings. I have been a reading buddy at my local library, a volunteer and mentor at three after-school programs, a peer tutor for college French classes, an ESL tutor for both middle school students and adults, and a student teacher in two high school French classrooms. My goal is for clients to get to know themselves better as learners, to develop study skills so they can become independent and to become confident with the material. Every learner is different, so I try to find the methods and approaches that work best for the individual client. Some students might need visual representations, some might prefer verbal explanations and some might need a tactile or hands-on experience. It is my job as the tutor to cater the learning experience to the individual client. Outside of academia, I enjoy running, swimming, hiking and biking. I love to get creative in the kitchen with cooking and baking, and I enjoy listening to and playing music as well as going to live shows. I am passionate about traveling and I take every chance I get to discover new places.
