I have bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, an MBA degree and a Master of Science degree in International Business. I can speak Mandarin. I think there is nothing hard to learn; it is all about skills of learning. I think everyone has his/her own way of studying, and you just have not find it yet.

More likely, many times you problems with your classes will be not knowing the right way to solve them. Teachers often tell you the knowledge, but you need also to learn the right way of using them.

In my own time, I like to watch TV series. One of my favorite show CSI just closed. I also have played many strategic games.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Analyze the student's weak points first. Then build a specific plan targeting his/her needs. Like using more tests skills if they want to pass and telling more knowledge if they have a interest.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Let the student himself explain what he knows of the subject matter. Then, I'd choose the tactic I will be using while teaching.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Help the student build a strong learning skill set in the selected field to face the advanced level of the selected field. If it is an academic field, teach the student the necessary tactics on problem solving.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Encourage, encourage, and encourage. Everyone can be motivated once you've found the right way to do it.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Find out why the student has difficulty, and then try to overcome it. If we can't, we would determine a way to work around it.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Talk more instead of reading. Help them to create their own way of taking notes while reading.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Being a friend of the student.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Telling stories, gossip, and funny things about the area.
