My experience as a tutor started in high school when my basketball coach asked me to tutor several of my teammates and help them with their math. While I was an undergraduate student, I helped as a tutor and counselor for junior high and high school students during my summer vacations. One program was geared towards low-income junior high students, who did not have the educational resources needed to better themselves. The program provided classes that taught students crucial math and science skills. Another program I was involved in was teaching high school students how to use Excel. Students were assigned projects that incorporated the usage of Excel. I helped provide the students with a conceptual understanding of the program. I believe I can take what I learned from these experiences and apply them to current students as well.
