I find it rewarding to guide students through a learning process. It's an incredible feeling to help someone reach that 'A-Ha!' moment. A tutor is uniquely afforded the challenge of providing that roadmap in a more personalized setting. I love that challenge, and every student learns differently; the best tutors subtly shift their approach to match the needs of each and every one of their students.
I work and volunteer in both the education and technology fields. I have a Master's of Science in Information Studies from The University of Amsterdam, which I put to use with freelance work in tech journalism, data mining and data analysis, while also keeping up with related side projects. I volunteer with educational outreach programs from time to time, but I also love working with Varsity, and first began with them in 2016.
With Varisty, I mainly focus on tutoring the SAT and ACT, but I also work with students on other test prep, essay prep, and extra help in regular school work.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I don't like to be stern with students. I'd much rather prefer to maintain my usual personality, which is friendly and agreeable. I like to engage in dialog that can get to the bottom of the problems the student has with the subject and work my way up from there. With this, I feel that I can engage in an effective and pleasant tutoring strategy.
