I have a degree in Forensic Psychology, studied Writing and Poetics, and Religious Studies as well. I grew up partly in Mexico so I am fluent in Spanish and have tutored students before (including Spanish speaking students learning English). I am trained in First Aid & CPR and work full time with at risk youth ages 10-18 here in Denver. I can help you with Spanish, elementary math, language arts/English, and more. I love to read - I'm a huge fan of historical thrillers/mysteries/fiction and have given myself a goal of reading 50 books this year (I'm so close)! I don't want you to ask me the answer, I want to show you how to find the answer yourself so that soon enough you won't need me anymore!

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I want you to find the answer yourself. I don't want to just give it to you. If I can find a way to lead you to the answer, then that is learning - that is what teaching means.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Show the student that they are capable of more than they think. Show them tips and tricks to understanding problems and not getting overwhelmed.
