I'm a sophomore at the University of Chicago studying Sociology and Economics. I love music as well and hope to take a lot more music history and theory classes in college. I also am incredibly interested in languages and currently take Chinese Language Classes in college. I tutored most of the time that I was in high school. I also tutor every summer I come home from college. I genuinely enjoy helping people understand difficult material. I would be more than happy to help you with anything you need and I easily tune in what students need from me as a tutor. What is your teaching philosophy?

Every person's approach to learning is different, and I adapt very well to peoples' learning needs. I always try to understand the person before I try and help them with academic material. If they don't understand something at first, I will always find other methods of teaching them until they understand.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Try to understand and get to know the person as a person before I understand them as a student, and where their learning needs are.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Giving them tools and methods to help them learn the material themselves, and how to get information when they don't understand something.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Check in with them regularly, even if it's not during our scheduled tutoring session.
