I am a Graduate student who has a passion for reading, writing and teaching! I graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Literature/Writing. I am an avid reader and am knowledgeable in the process of writing and test preparation. During that time I oversaw an charity group which helped me develop public speaking skills, group management and how to express yourself creatively.
Recently, I received my Multiple Subject Credential at SF State. I am now well versed in teaching Pre-K- 6th grade students. During my time as a student teacher I learned to excel at teaching Core subjects, as many as 33 students per class, as well as working in a small group with ELL learners. Not only was I a student teacher and going to school to learn about teaching, but during my last semester I worked as a substitute teacher. This allowed me to gain experience working with many different types of children as well as being able to use my time effectively, execute a plan and think on my feet.
Besides academics I also have a passion for water polo and swimming. While I was transitioning to become a Graduate student I was able to coach a swim team as well as teach private lessons to children and adults. I love being active and I think that is a very important part of any child's education.
I have found that working 1-on-1 with students is one of the best ways to help them grow into confident learners and I can't wait to meet your learner as well!
