I'm a senior at the University of Chicago, although I'm originally from Los Angeles. I'm a psychology and visual arts double major and a cinema & media studies minor. With my degree, I'm hoping to pursue a career in marketing in either the film and entertainment industry or the fashion industry.
In regards to tutoring, I have over five years of experience, and I specialize in the SAT, elementary to high school math, and essay writing/grammar. As for my teaching style, I am a huge proponent of one-on-one sessions (vs. larger class structures) because I like personalizing my lesson plans around each student's learning style. I feel that catering to a student's strengths makes sessions more fun and the work more comprehensible. I am also a strong believer in connecting with students outside of the teaching sphere and in creating personal friendships. From my experience, having a positive relationship with a student really facilitates the learning process. I am an extremely encouraging, dedicated, and passionate teacher, committed to helping others succeed, and as a Varsity Tutor, I am really excited to meet new students and help them reach their academic goals! I always put my students first and make it a priority for them to learn, but to also have fun!
