I graduated with degrees in Spanish Language and Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago. I will soon begin graduate school at UCLA in the field of Hispanic Linguistics, and I hope to become a university professor in the future. I have a lot of experience tutoring Spanish, ACT English, ACT Writing, College Writing and ESL to all different age groups. Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I think it's important to give students real-world examples to connect with the information they're learning. I also think it is important to constantly motivate them and show them what is possible if they continue to work towards their goals of success.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would evaluate where they are with the material and then ask them where they want/need to be for success. I would then test them on some of the basics of the material and come up with outlines of lesson plans with the student for future classes.
