I am a rising sophomore at Johns Hopkins University. Having tutored all throughout high school as well as in college, I have extensive experience working with children of all ages ranging from those in elementary school to young adults pursuing higher education. As President of National Honor Society and Student Council during my senior year of high school, I was responsible for spearheading a school-wide enrichment program which included tutoring in all four of the core subjects (English, Social Studies, Math, Science) across various levels of difficulty in the curriculum (AP/IB, Honors, Regents/State level). Because of such experience, I have expertise working with all types of learners and am equipped to assist every student in achieving his or her academic goals. In addition to tutoring academic subjects, I also have extensive experience in the college application process, from brainstorming and proof-reading college essays, prepping for interviews, organizing resumes as well as filling out all parts of the Common Application.

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is heavily influenced by the subject material and the type of student I am working with. For standardized testing, for instance, I like to focus on mastering time-management and identifying the types of problems that will repeatedly show up throughout the exam. Ultimately, for each subject area, there are different tools that can be utilized by the student that I like to focus on. This increases academic success all around.
