I am a graduate of Georgetown University's College of Arts and Science and am now pursuing a Master's Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education to launch my career as a public high school educator. With four years of experience in tutoring and teaching, I love to share her passion for learning, invigorating students, challenging them, and motivating them to reach their highest potential.

My dedication, drive, determination, motivation, and encouragement, make me a great tutor! I have served as a tutor to elementary school and high school youth, and my creative lesson plans, tailored to student needs and interests, as well as my desire to push students to think independently and do their best work has led to success. Furthermore, ability to listen to students and let them lead the learning also makes me a great tutor.

In terms of teaching experience, for the past four year I have been tutoring for a program called "After School Kids Program". It's geared toward tutoring math and english for high school students involved in the court system. I have also privately tutored in History, Grammar, and Math.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is that all students can achieve at high standards.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

To begin a session, I will introduce myself and get to know the student a bit. We will set up a framework of study or a rough plan of what we will accomplish, and then jump right in!

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I can help students become independent learners by modelling best practices and an intrinsic love of learning.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would try various learning strategies based on my professional experience, and not stop until we find something that works for the student. Each student learns differently, and may need a unique method or explanation to obtain a skill or a concept.
