I am currently a sophomore at the University of Denver, where I am studying analytics and management. I went to high school at St. Ignatius College Prep, and I was born and raised in the city. Throughout my high school and college career, I have taken many standardized tests and entrance exams. These types of tests would certainly be a specialty for me and I love to teach testing strategies. Writing and reading are definitely strengths of mine as well, and subjects that I would be excited to tutor. I had tutoring for a number of subjects, including the ACT, SAT and Latin, over my academic career; much of that instruction has bled out into how I like to approach tutoring.

I would describe my teaching style as very much trial and error. I personally believe that the best way to teach is to practice examples and problems. I like to let my students not just hear what I am saying and internalize it, but also to do it on their own. One thing that I especially find helpful is learning some of the tricks behind tests. There are always ways to figure things out or deduce solutions when you do not have a clear concept of the answer. Not looking at a question and giving up because one might not know the answer, but rather understanding that what the answer cannot be is just as important.

I am involved in a number of extra-curricular activities outside of school. During high school, I was a member of the Model UN team at my school and always love a good political discussion. I was also a four year member of the rugby and football teams, however I did not pursue these in college. I am a champion of intramural basketball at University of Denver and I try to inspire kids to really strive for such heights. I am also an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and participate in a number of events surrounding this organization
