For four years I worked for the Phillips-Brooks House Association. I founded an after school program for elementary and middle school students. I developed an independent curriculum and helped the students complete their homework. I worked with their parents and teachers to identify weaknesses and potential areas of growth. I also led a high school mentoring program that, in addition to homework help, focused on preparing students for college. We helped the teens navigate the application process and study for the SAT. For both of these programs I both directly tutored the participants and also helped to train and develop our tutors and mentors. I also have experience as a high school debate coach.

I am a great tutor because I pay attention to the learning style of my students. I adjust my approach to ensure that my students get the most out of our time together. I am encouraging, supportive and patient. I want to see my students succeed. I am also an extremely hard worker and go above and beyond to plan and think through my sessions with students.
