A recent UCLA graduate with a BA in English and a minor in Education Studies, I spent the 2014-2015 school year serving as a full-time tutor, mentor, and role-model for 9th and 10th graders where I provided one-on-one and small-group instruction and co-facilitated a poetry club and an after school program. I also previously interned at an elementary school to provide homework help, test prep, and writing workshops.
As I have a strong background in ELA and currently tutor high school students at all levels of math, I am very comfortable tutoring both English at any grade level and math up to Pre-Calculus as well as providing tools for critical thinking and test taking. While most of my undergraduate studies revolved around analyzing literature and research, I am presently more passionate about tutoring math, and aspire to be a secondary math instructor. A firm believer in learning by doing and discussing, I strive to provoke the dialogue and meta-cognitive thinking that leads to more logical, critical thought processes.
Outside of education, I write and perform slam poetry, read voraciously, enjoy camping and hiking, and tell horrendously cheesy jokes.
