My education is predominately comprised of studies at Front Range Community College and Red Rocks Community College. At these schools I studied Early Childhood Education, how to teach math to elementary students, English, and Psychology. For eight years I have been working with children aged three to fourteen years old. While I am able to help children with a wide array of subjects, I am most accomplished in math by using varied applications and by appealing to diverse methods of learning. I understand that children cannot learn the concrete infrastructure of our society (namely math but is also many of the other core subjects in our education system) through rote, undifferentiated lessons. Outside of teaching children, I enjoy traveling to Mexico to volunteer with the youth outreach missions there. I also like to play sports and to spend time at the library furthering my personal pursuit for education.
