Tutoring has had a major impact on my life. When I was a student in grade school, weekly tutoring sessions not only gave me a leg up on my academics, but they also fostered my growing enthusiasm towards the occupation. My tutor at that time was the epitome of the type that I strive to be today: passionate, energetic, and empathetic. My first experiences of actually being a tutor happened unexpectedly in high school when I was thrust into the position of being the assistant lacrosse coach that could also help the kids excel off the field. It was through this involvement that I realized my desire to see my students succeed- whether it be in the form of helping them to attain excellent grades or by promoting the type of positive attitude and motivation needed to fulfill anything that they endeavor. Currently, I am a rising sophomore at Colgate University in New York. I am working my way towards a double major in economics and Spanish. I have been learning Spanish since elementary school, and it has been a subject that I love to study especially to practice when I am in a Spanish-speaking country. I hope to one-day work in a Hispanic country perhaps being a financial analyst or stockbroker. In addition to Spanish, I also teach Math which goes hand in hand with economics. My teaching philosophy is to provide an environment in which the student can feel comfortable while encouraging them to be interested in developing their skills that could one day contribute to the thing they want to dedicate their life to. When I am not focusing on school, I am a big sports fanatic; I am on the Colgate Ski Team and Ultimate Frisbee Team.
