I am a recent graduate of the University of Miami with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I was born in Montreal, Canada but moved to the US when i was only two years old. Growing up, my parents placed a strong emphasis on education, especially math. Starting in the second grade, my father would teach my sister and me math on Sundays. Since then, I have participated in most advanced math or science courses. In high school I took honors biology, chemistry, algebra I & II, and pre-calculus. I then moved on to take the AP calculus, physics, and chemistry courses. Because of my strong problem solving skills, I decided to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering and placed an emphasis on math courses for my electives, taking courses such as Calculus II, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra.
Now that I have graduated, I would like to use my spare time to spread and teach the knowledge that I have acquired over the past fifteen years. I have experience tutoring the SAT as well as individual clients for subjects such as calculus and physics.
In my opinion, the easiest way to teach someone math is by simplifying the problem solving process by creating a formulaic set of steps. Once this routine approach is ingrained in one's mind through repetition and variation (to hone critical thinking skills), the problem becomes as easy as tying your shoes. This process is not an easy one, but using real world analogies complimented with patience and compassion, results will be achieved.
In my spare time I enjoy working out, playing sports (basketball & football), watching movies, reading, and relaxing with friends.
