I am a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Originally I started college as a Math major. However, I changed so that I could use math to make things happen. I love tutoring students because I've been a student all my life and know what it is like to struggle in a subject. I want to be there when you need help. I started tutoring middle school and early high school students while I was in high school. Last year, I worked as an educational aide in 1st and 4th grade classrooms. I helped students in all subjects. The subjects I tutor are all math. Math has always been my favorite subject in school. My favorite subject to tutor is Trigonometry. I like tutoring this best because there are a lot of new functions and identities students have never seen before, and I want to help them through it. In my style of teaching, I believe it is important to go through every step of a problem. I am very detail oriented and like to walk through step by step so that the problem is easier to understand. In math, practice problems are key. The more problems you do, the better you will learn. Outside of academia, I love enjoying the outdoors (especially hiking) and going to yoga classes. On a sunny day, I love going outside with my friends to play frisbee or just enjoy nature.
