I am a graduate from Yale University, where I received a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience. While attending high school in Los Angeles, I tutored my peers in various math subjects and English as a Second Language students in writing and critical reading. During my years at Yale, I educated local New Haven public school students in physics, chemistry, and biology; worked as a Calculus tutor for fellow Yalies; volunteered as a computer tutor for patients at the Mental Health Center; and also, spent two months working as an English teacher at an elementary school in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I enjoy tutoring in a broad range of subjects, but specialize in Mathematics (from elementary school level to college Calculus) and English (including reviewing essay writing and teaching critical reading). Having also participated in test preparation programs, I have worked with students preparing for standardized tests and am keen on effective tools, techniques, and strategies useful for allowing students to achieve their best scores. I have found my tutoring and teaching experiences to be extremely rewarding. They have required me to use my intelligence, patience, and empathy to not only help students academically, but also build relationships with them, while enthusiastically rooting for them on their journey towards success. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking (and eating!) new foods, dancing, and grabbing a nice cup of coffee or ice cream with good friends.
