I am currently a student at the University of Kansas. I am working toward a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science with Minors in Middle Eastern Studies and Economics. I am also learning Farsi (Persian), a language that I started this past year at KU. My past tutoring experience primarily centered on working with beginning debate and forensics students while I was president of my high school's speech and debate team. I would often spend time working with students on how to succeed in the event and would also help improve their individual scripts or arguments. I also tutored a little while a member of my school's National Honor Society. I tutor and government history (AP Euro, AP U.S., American History, AP U.S. Gov., European History, and Social Studies) and English (Reading, College Essays, Essay Editing, Writing) I also tutor students for the ACT Reading, English, and Writing Sections and Public Speaking and am available for summer tutoring. My favorite subjects to tutor are American History, because I have always had a passionate interest in history and believe that although America has a relatively short history, it is one of the most interesting and intricate, and A.P. U.S. Government & Politics, because I believe that understanding the American system of governance and its political system is critical to be an informed citizen and voter. My tutoring style centers around making sure the student understands why the material is important, what it is a reflection of, and what it may lead to. I believe that if a student can understand the significance of material than the student will have a firm grasp of the topic and the other details will fall into place. Outside of tutoring I really enjoy reading, primarily books involving sports, humor, politics, or history. I am also really into politics and enjoy following various politicians and candidates in upcoming elections. I am also a big baseball fan with the Royals being my favorite team.
