I am a graduate from the University of California Riverside. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a strong emphasis on medically related courses, including biochemistry, genetics, neuroscience, cell and molecular biology, immunology, virology and biochemistry. Currently, I am working towards my goal of attending medical school. Although I teach a range of subjects including biology, chemistry, and physics, my absolute favorite subject is biochemistry, as it is a highly interdisciplinary science that draws on concepts from several other branches of science. I have prior experience tutoring students in upper division biochemistry courses during my senior year at UC Riverside, an activity which I loved dearly. Additionally, I am very passionate about science in general, and that passion is demonstrated through my teaching. Furthermore, I understand that the sciences can be very challenging. Thus, my main mission is to help students gain confidence to tackle the material effectively. I do this by taking a compassionate approach while teaching, and also by identifying and focusing on any areas of weakness to help build confidence. While not focusing on the academic world, I enjoy cooking, reading, spending time with my dog, Sammy, and watching drama series!
