I received a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a MSc from the University of Cologne, Germany. Since graduation I have worked in Australia and the US studying coral reef biology. My background as a teacher includes teaching in laboratory settings, leading seminar series and discussion groups, direct mentoring of high-school, undergraduate and graduate students in a teaching and research environment, development and teaching of introductory and advanced courses, and experience in administrative roles. I specialize in science courses such as molecular biology, ecology, environmental science, zoology, and botany. Being a native German speaker I also tutor German, a language I am still passionate about. I love learning and am excited when I see enthusiasm for learning and knowledge in young people. In my spare time I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities (hiking, diving, climbing) as well as reading and singing.
