I am currently a Freshman at the University of Washington in Seattle. I am currently on track to study for a Bachelor's Degree in the Biomedical Engineering Major, but I am also leaning towards the Pre-Medicine track. I have worked with children since the age of 10, and I know how to handle and motivate them to work harder in terms of studying. In the summer of 2013, I worked at a Math and Reading tutoring Center for 3 months. During this time, I tutored over 20 children from the ages of 5-14. I can tutor all levels of math, and I am confident in my teaching ability. I can tutor Reading and Science at younger ages, however I prefer Mathematics because it is a subject I am very strong at, and thus I am skilled at teaching other children. My tutoring philosophy is to always try and teach the student different methods in solving the problem, in order to help them understand the processes that are actually going on behind the solution. Once a student understands what he/she is doing with each step, the actual application of their knowledge becomes easy. I am a member of the Boy Scouts of America and did attain the rank of Eagle Scout during the summer of 2014. My hobbies are outdoors activities, as I love camping, hiking, playing soccer, tennis, and almost any other sport.
