I received my Master of Science in Global and International Education from Drexel University, and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from Purdue University. My thesis, in which I conducted field work in Haiti, is titled: Empowering Women in Haiti: A Microfinance Case Study. I worked at a university in Philadelphia from 2008 until early 2017 counseling both domestic and international undergraduate students. I moved to Colorado in January 2017. In my role in Philly, I helped students edit their career materials (resumes, cover letters, CVs, etc.) on a daily basis. Additionally, since I am a strong advocate for global education, I managed work programs abroad and helped students intern overseas. I traveled routinely for both work and pleasure and have been to over 35 countries. Prior to this position, I worked in information technology and finance capacities in New York, NY and Charlotte, NC. I have extensive experience with public speaking, and I have presented at conferences worldwide. I tutored previously, largely in the volunteer capacity, both in New York City and in Charlotte, NC. In New York, I assisted with teaching ESL weekly to teenage immigrants, and in Charlotte I tutored elementary students in math and reading on a weekly basis. Through Varsity Tutors, I tutor the following areas: College essays, English, ESL/ELL, Essay Editing, Public Speaking, Reading, and Writing. My tutoring methodology is simple I am extremely patient, and I feel that helping the student fully comprehend the assignment at hand is paramount. Once a student's learning style is determined, I will work with the student to ensure he or she is able to fulfill their goals.
