I earned my master's of science in biochemical nutrition at Purdue University. Before attending Purdue, I graduated from the University of California - Santa Barbara, where I earned my bachelor of science in biopsychology. My career goal is to work as a physician and I am very excited to start medical school this summer. I have always loved to teach, and started tutoring in high school. I mainly tutored general chemistry, and math for students up to 9th grade. In addition, I worked as a teaching assistant (TA) for honors chemistry, where I graded homework assignments and helped students with any homework questions. As a graduate student, I worked as a teaching assistant for two years for nutrition communication. The course focused on both verbal and written communication skills, public speaking, and research presentations. I consistently scored an average of 4.4/5 on all student feedback rankings. My favorite subject to tutor is math, because I feel I can explain the material well and I enjoy watching the information "click" for students. I believe the best method for tutoring is to get to know the student and then cater my tutoring methods to their learning style, as each student may have different needs. Outside of teaching, I love reading, running, hiking, video games, and exploring new places.
