I grew up in a small suburb just north of Los Angeles, CA and through my parents cultivated a love for modern culture and media. In the winter, I hunker down and catch up on all the Academy Award nominees in film and throughout the year I keep up to date on the latest musical releases, particularly those in the alternative and indie genres. This past year my favorite film release was Birdman and my favorite musical release was The War On Drugs's "Lost in the Dream." In my free time, I enjoy reading classic novels, hiking, exploring new cafés and study spots, watching political dramas and The Daily Show, and practicing photography. I am currently a sophomore at UC Berkeley, majoring in History and minoring in Public Policy. I take particular interest in American politics but my focus is on Revolution & War. I was born and raised on sports; playing baseball for 12 years and dabbling in basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, and cross country. Sports and exercise have always been an integral part of my life and I constantly turn to them for stress relief. As of right now, I plan on pursuing a career in teaching or international service. Time will tell, but I am also looking at attending law school.
