I graduated from Georgia State University in 2011, where I received my B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I also studied philosophy extensively during my time there. Since graduation, I have traveled and lived abroad, including a position in The Republic of Georgia as an ESL teacher. Most recently, I worked with a major Legal Aid organization in the city of Chicago through AmeriCorps VISTA, but have since relocated to Jersey City, where I'm excited to tutor and assist students in a variety of subject areas. I am particularly interested in working with students in the fields of English, essay composition, and history, especially with students who are preparing for standardized testing. My teaching philosophy is underlined by a belief in the ability of all students to achieve their potential. I want to imbue students with the passion for reading, writing, and literature which is so intrinsic to my life. In my spare time, I enjoy creative writing, reading philosophy, and attending readings. I look forward to working with you!
