I grew up in Closter, a small suburban town in Northern New Jersey, and I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2013 with an American Chemical Society certified B.S. in Chemistry and Secondary Education. As an educator, I have tutored high school students in every grade and student taught three classes (two college prep chemistry and one essentials of chemistry) full-time for three months at Ewing High School outside of Trenton, NJ. I tutor primarily chemistry, physics, and physical science; however, I also tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. Besides science and education, I love sports, music, and movie. I spend my free time learning and challenging myself via stepping outside of my comfort zone. I began snowboarding last year, and it has since become a favorite hobby of mine. More recently, I went skydiving for the first time and finished a Tough Mudder. When it comes to television, a few of my favorites are Fight Club, Shawshank Redemption, Breaking Bad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Parks and Recreation, and Family Guy. I also love rock and roll, metal, and alternative music. I'm not a sports fanatic, but my favorite teams are the Yankees, NY Giants, and NJ Devils. As a person who has always had a passion for science, learning, and helping others succeed, tutoring has always been a wholly fulfilling experience. I believe that students learn at different paces, and that individuals learn best through the use of different mediums. Learners are all distinctive and have unique needs and interests- there is no one-size-fits-all method of expressing a particular concept. Whether its helping a struggling student learn the structure of an atom or challenging an already strong student to go above and beyond, I look forward to engaging young learners. Although I work to ensure that every student forms a strong grasp for the content, my goals as an educator goes beyond this. I strive to instill self-motivation and hunger for improvement in the learners I work with. After all, math and science might be our guide to understanding the universe, but scientific thinking and genuine curiosity enable human beings to evolve and explore these once unfathomable frontiers.

What is your teaching philosophy?

Student's learn best when they take pride in their learning. Fostering this sense of pride should be the main goal of the educator, as success will come naturally once the intrinsic desire to succeed is established.
