I earned my Bachelor's degree in math and music from Wesleyan University in 2006. Since then, I have worked as a math tutor for various tutoring agencies. I most enjoy teaching middle-schoolers, high-schoolers and older, especially in subjects like Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and SAT. Besides math, I enjoy writing Classical music.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I try to personalize my teaching by addressing the student's strengths and weaknesses. I also try to think of more than one method to solve any problem.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Talk about what specifically they would like to work on. Observe them doing problems and talk to them about them. Get to know the student's strengths and weaknesses.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Ask them questions to try to motivate the student to think critically.
