My PhD was obtained from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN. I hold a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education. My specialization is in Professional Studies in Education that provide opportunities for me to instruct, research, and publish. My first book is, Conversations With My Daughter: Love Is Patient, Love is Kind. The graduate degree I hold, Master of Arts in Education, is from Argosy University in Chicago, Illinois. Curriculum and Instruction is the area of concentration for my graduate degree. The University of Illinois at Chicago is where I attained my undergraduate degree. The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences is the area of education I gained there with a focus in Communications.

I have assisted learners from Montessori to 8th grade learners. I instructed adult learners at Malcolm X College in Chicago, IL and at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio.

I tutor Language Arts, English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and General Education Development (GED). Students I have tutored have studied subjects ranging in English (100, 101, 102), Speech, Behavioral Sciences and Humanities. Latino and Asian students are some foreign students I have guided in learning. My favorite subjects to tutor are Language Arts and (elementary) Mathematics.

It gives me a great sense of pride to encourage learners to reach their highest potential. I like learners to know they have multiple intelligences that can be tapped into for a dynamic learning experience. Having a positive mental attitude and using positive words to live by are areas, in my tutoring style, I strongly recommend learners adapt. There is power in positive thinking. When we change our language we (in essence) change our lives.

I enjoy walking, reading, working on word search puzzles, listening to jazz music, attending the opera, hearing the symphony/orchestra play, putting up a tent in the park and listening to birds chirping. These are some of my interests outside of academia. :)

My most recent accomplishment is receiving an Honorable Mention award for the University of Toledo Innovation & Entrepreneurial Competition.
