I am currently a high school English teacher in the IB (International Baccalaureate) program at the American International School of Bolivia in Cochabamba. I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies. I then completed a Psychology and Counseling post-baccalaureate program and earned a certificate in teaching English in the Montessori method because I am passionate about empowering youth through education. As a professional in the e-learning industry, I edited online tools to make language learning more fun, interactive, and suited for today's technological world.
I have 12 years of experience tutoring and teaching a wide range of subjects to diverse populations, from pre-schoolers and beginning readers, to ESL and foreign language students, to high school Spanish learners and SAT-takers. I believe tutoring should be tailored to the student's goals, strengths, areas for growth, and individual learning style.
It is my wish for clients to feel enriched by, and become confident in, their subject material, developing strategies for success that they can apply to future standardized tests, homework, and essay writing.
From summer camps to schools to office environments, I enjoy working locally and internationally, both in English and in Spanish. I also love to travel, bake, listen to music, and run.
