As I was growing up, both my grandmothers were teachers and so there has always been an emphasis on education in my life. In my own experiences as a teacher, I realized that my strength is developing one-on-one relationships with students and passing on my enthusiasm for learning and knowledge. Tutoring provides me the ideal platform to do just that.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and my Masters of Arts in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University as well. My tutoring strengths revolve around English, Writing, Literature, Composition, History, and Psychology as these are the subjects I have always thrived in personally.
When I am not tutoring, or studying myself, I have a wide variety of interests ranging from comics, Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, sports (especially football!), to fashion design and sewing, to swimming or going to the beach (I do live in Florida after all!), to listening to music, or spending time with my friends and family.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I really focus on the 'coaching' aspect of tutoring. I believe encouraging a student and having faith in them is just as important as the nuts-and-bolts of the subject they are studying.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I really would like to get to know the student. I not only want to know their academic needs and goals, but what their interests are and who they are as a person.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Many students today second guess themselves. If a student is encouraged to trust what they already know, chances are they will become more independent without even realizing it.
