I would like to be you or your child's tutor! I have been tutoring for 5 years with both Upward Bound and Help Yourself, state and national programs. I have excelled and worked with students from 1st grade through high school and even some college students. I have not only had tutees of mine pass desired classes, but I have also directly tutored students to 4s and 5s on Biology AP exams. Much of my style is student oriented and can change due to their strengths. I use approachable metaphors and similes to connect the student to the material especially as I focus on more abstract subjects from our day-to-day lives. Much of my teaching is conversational and focused on re-applying fundamental ideas. I will not work with rote memorization but repetition of themes, not questions, is key. I am not another teacher, but a member of your team who will make any subject more manageable for your situation.

I received my BS in Biochemistry from Beloit College, in Beloit, WI, May of 2013. While a student, I studied Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Genetics, and many other courses of this type. I have also studied Anthropology and Art History a great deal. While in college, I interned as a Beloit Biomedical Research Scholar at the University of Loyola at their Sheridan campus. My research was regarding DNA sequencing of phototransductive proteins in the eye tissues of a species of freshwater American fish. Further, I studied at the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito(USFQ) on Ecuadorian mainland and the Galapagos Academic Institute of the Arts and Sciences(GAIAS) on San Cristobal of the Galapagos Islands. I am also well versed in mathematics and physics.

I spend a lot of time reading, hiking, canoeing, playing pick-up games of basketball and soccer at Chicago parks, and I love the Chicago Bulls. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a handful of fish and plants. I am very nature oriented, which is why biochemistry drew me in. I also enjoy travel, art museums, and the theatre, especially the Chicago Shakes on Navy Pier. I spend a lot of time on fitness, whether it be playing sports, lifting, training, yoga, swimming, or meditation.

It would be my pleasure to devote time and energy to the success you or your family desires. I will work hard for you and deliver.
